Saturday, 1-18-09, we had the Rodney Recovery Ride to welcome Rodney back into the world of biking. Rodney had a heart attack in February and has been off his Harley since. After two "Fix Rodney" operations, his doctor finally released him to ride again. Today's ride was put together and made possible by numerous friends of Rodney's and our destination was to one of Rodney's favorite restaurants, The Red Rooster, in Haskell Texas. Scroll down and join Rodney and the rest of us, as Rodney Road Captain's this ride and leads us Southwest 97.7 miles to the Red Rooster Restaurant. REMEMBER: IF YOU WANT TO SEE THE PICTURE BIGGER, JUST CLICK ON THE PICTURE,.

Our staging point was the Shell Gas Station at the
Kamay Y, just west of Wichita Falls Texas. Just East of the gas station is one of the more popular clubs with the bikers in our area, Bully's. Note the chopper out back on top of the covered m/c parking area.

Final picture of this post is of Russ, leading us home. I want to thank everybody that came with us today. You helped make this a successful ride and Rodney & Vickie were very happy that so many of their friends showed up to welcome Rodney back. But that's what you do. You take care of your own and Rodney is like family to us and now back with us. Thanks to all of you that prayed for him following his heart attack. God answered our prayers. I told Vicki to mark it on her calendar that next year, we will have the 2nd Annual Rodney Recovery Ride. She said that sounded great. So....

Nice trip, man...i like to see the pics with sun, 'cause here in Spain still raining! (shit!).
ReplyDeleteGreetings.
Freebird,
ReplyDeleteThanks. Sun we have a lot of and we are in the middle of a drought in Texas. I will trade you 2 weeks of sun for 2 weeks of rain. I am in sunny Arizona right now on my annual bike trip to visit friends. It was 97 degrees yesterday and supposed to hit 100 degrees today, with no clouds. So check out the posts from Arizona and all you'll see is sand, desert (Sonora Desert), mountains, cactus and sun... I will be here for two weeks...Put on some rain tires and Ride Safe there in Spain my friend. Your country is a very beautiful and scenic place..I have a friend that is there somewhere on the coast. I will email him and find out where......John
