As most of you are aware, our good friend Rodney had a heart attack back in February and has not been able to ride his Harley with his wife, Vickie, or with us, all his friends in the North Texas/Southern Oklahoma area. He has had two operations to get him back to normal and back on his bike. We have been asking all of you to pray for Rodney & his family. Well, GOOD NEWS at last. God has answered our prayers and Rodney gets released to ride his bike at the end of this week. On Saturday, April 18. 2009, we are going to have a RODNEY RECOVERY RIDE. This will be for all of us to honor and welcome him back into the fold. Everybody is welcome and if you are passing thru this area, you are invited. It is not a sanctioned ride with T-shirts, pins & entry fees. Just a large ride with friends and new friends to welcome back Rodney & Vickie. The email that was sent out is below.

The email about the RODNEY RECOVERY RIDE follows:
As you all know, Rodney Busby has been off his bike and recovering from his heart attack (February) and two operations to get him back to normal. I know, I know, what is normal for the Buzz? ANYWAY, Rodney is back amongst us and I asked him if he would like us to have a "Rodney Recovery Ride" in his honor. He said he would be honored and when I asked him where he would like to go, he said "The RED ROOSTER" in Haskell Texas. He said all the food is great there and they have FANTASTIC Chicken Fried Steak.
So, Saturday, 4-18-09, we shall meet at the Shell Station at the Kamay Y (Kell West (US 82) at the Kamay split) at 0930 hrs for the RODNEY RECOVERY RIDE. We will go KSU at 0945 hrs. It is about an 1 1/2 hour ride (97.72 miles) to Haskell. We should be back around 4 pm, so ya'll will have your night free. I will send out reminders as the time grows near. Rodney said he would like as many folks show up as possible and the more the merrier.
Let's all give Rodney & Vicki a good show of support and welcome him back to the riding life. He is, after all, one of ours. (end)
So join us if at all possible. Pictures will be taken, as usual, and I plan to have the ride on this blog. Let me rephrase that, I SHALL have the ride on this blog. Anyone that may have any questions or need further directions, feel free to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. I look forward to seeing everyone there.
