Bill went to "The Shrine" and wheeled out his Triumph Silver Jubilee.
This is a kickstart only model...Remember those on our Harley's back then?
The blue seat with red stripes and the Silver Jubilee stamp.
The gas tank & medallion
The instruments. The toggle on the headlight is the on/off, low/high beam switch...
The engine & carb..Starting this thing is a post in itself..You first half to prime the carb until gas drips out of the overflow port. Then you adjust the choke and then kick start it to life..There are a couple other things you have to do too, but My C.R.S. is fully operational today and Bill is out with Emily, so I can't ask him...
This is one of a thousand made...

The wheels also have a red, white & blue stripe as part of the custom paint scheme
The Triumph patent info..
We head out for breakfast at Jerry Bob's and then off the the cactus park. Here is Bill heading down Shannon Rd on the Jubilee. We did not take the Jubilee to the Saguaro National Park..
Bill & the bike's at Jerry Bob's Restaurant. The Red Harley Heritage belongs to David, who is the Rider's Edge Instructor at the Harley Davidson Of Tucson Dealership.

David & his Harley. If you live in the area and want to learn how to ride a bike and be safe doing it, go by and see him and check out the Rider's Edge Program
This Honda 1300 VTX was also there when we left Jerry Bob's..
We went back to Bill's and he dropped off the Jubilee and got his 08 Triumph Bonneville and we headed out. We got to the Saguaro National Park and stopped and took some pics. This is me and the bikes
This is me & Ms. Clone. This is her last trip to Arizona and next time I come out I will be on a new Harley.. But, in all fairness, this Vulcan has been dependable, trouble free and a lot of fun.. But I have to return to my first love....
Bill & I and the Saguaro National Park. Thanks to the guys in the blue Mazda for stopping and taking our picture.

We left the Cactus's or Cacti and made a run to The Wagon Wheel Saloon in Picture Rocks Arizona for a drink of water and then headed back to Tucson and the "Game On Sports Grille. Bill's friend Jay, owns the business and opened it after moving to Tucson from New Jersey. Here is a Harley Road King parked out front..
Dale lives right across the street and came over with his daughter Marie..This is left to right: Jay, Bill & Dale.. Jay & I get along great and he told me if I moved to Tucson, I had the bouncer job at his place..
Bill out on the patio of the "Game On". For more info see these links: http://www.azstarnet.com/sn/food/281737.php and http://tucson.metromix.com/restaurants/american/game-on-sports-grille-casas-adobes/894452/content
This is Erika, our waitress. She was great and put up with a lot from us..
Dale on the patio of the Game On Sports Grille
This is Bob. Bob is a personal trainer and has a great sense of humor..I asked him what he could do for my body and he said "bury it". He prefers his new candy apple red Corvette to motorcycles .
This is Marie & Dale. Marie is Dale's daughter and she & her husband, Mannie (Manuel), just moved from Seattle to Tucson to be near Dale...
Jay, Dale trying to see over us, and me at the Game On. When we left Bill's this morning, all I had on were my sunglasses. It was dark and I am blind as a bat without my glasses, day or night. But my sunglasses are prescription so what little I could see, was in focus..
We left the Game On and headed over to a Karaoke bar called the C-Note. Dale's daughter can sing and wanted to sing a couple of songs to Dale.. We parked the bikes and met Kevin. Kevin had just moved to Tucson from Florida and made the trip on his Honda 1300 VTX. Here is Kevin & his bike..
Kevin said one of the selling points of the VTX was the solid wheels (like the Harley Fat Boy's) and he said with the wheels, he got blown all over the road when crossing South Texas by the high crosswinds.. But he made it and he is happy here in Tucson...
Here is Bill at the C-Note
Dale looking at Marie as she sings to him. There were some misty eyes between the two when she finished
me, Marie & Dale as we head out
Kevin, Dave & Sean are out back as we head out...
The last pic from today is of this Harley Shovel Head Sportster on the dance floor by the karaoke equipment
This will conclude Day 14. I had another great time today, riding and meeting new folks. I look forward to tomorrow even though I don't have a clue what's on the agenda.

ReplyDeleteCool pics! Thanks so much for joining my site! Hope you drop by often.:) I do most of my riding on the dirt, but love the freedom that any kind of bike gives. Thank God we still live in a free country!..mostly;)and thanks to all those that have preserved our freedom.
ReplyDeletemq01,
ReplyDeleteIf ya got the sequence down right, you'd have no problem firing it up. It started first kick everytime he started it while I was there...
John
Freebird,
He loves that Triumph too. He sold a customized Harley to get it. As always, I appreciate your supportive comments..
John
Baron,
Bill thanks you for the positive comment on his Triumph. I enjoyed the ride this year, although I burned up on the way back to Texas. Thank God for McDonald's & their air conditioning..(grin)
John
Tony,
I agree with you 100% about our free country & those that fought & still fight to preserve our freedom. I enjoy your site and believe it or not, I use to ride a dirt bike. But I thought the back trails and stuff were too dangerous, so I now prefer riding on the streets and highways where it's safer..(grin)
