DAY 12 Trip To Tucson Arizona 5-1-09

Day 12, Friday 5-1-09, was Tombstone Day.. We left Tucson for Tombstone at about noon and stopped at Sonoita for a rest stop. Join us for our ride down to Tombstone & Boot Hill and REMEMBER: IF YOU WANT TO SEE THE PICTURE BIGGER, JUST CLICK ON THE PICTURE...

We head out and a short time later we had to pull over so I could fasten my saddlebags. Bill patiently waits..

Once again, Bill Eastbound on I-10 to the Patagonia & Sonoita cutoff. We would go to Sonoita and then head East to Tombstone from there...

This black Ford GT 40 came up from behind. I managed to get this pic and the next pic before it disappeared...

The Ford GT had to slow for traffic. Here it signals for a lane change. It changed lanes, accelerated and was gone..

We stopped at Montgomery's Grill & Saloon in Vail Arizona for a water break. We parked next to this V-Star

Bill & the bikes out in front of Montgomery's

Bill talks to the owner of the V-Star before we leave Montgomery's in Vail AZ

As we ride along, we go thru another Border Patrol checkpoint...

Passing thru the checkpoint, we continue South to Sonoita..The view ahead

We get to Sonoita and stop at the Ranch House Restaurant for lunch. Here's Bill in the parking lot..

We get to the Larian Motel. This is the same place we stayed last year. We had the Bat Masterson Room (5) last year. This year we got the Clanton's Room (6). For more on this great motel, see this link: http://www.tombstonemotels.com/

This guy is buried on Boot Hill. We will go there tomorrow. This will conclude Day 12. The night time pics of Day 12 will be in the Week 2 (assorted pics). I didn't want to have one massive post on Tombstone & Boothill, so I broke it up a bit. We had a great ride down to Tombstone today and I look forward to tomorrow..
