We sat on the walkway and read papers to kill time. It was really raining out. Here is Bob engrossed in an article in USA Today..
They had four recliners where you could look out at the bay, and on any other day, nimble nymphs playing in the surf & sand..Not today
This is Kelli, the hotel receptionist & desk clerk. She had called us and told us we HAD to leave our room at 11:00 a.m. Since it was 11:10 a.m. we left & checked out. But, she did let us hang out downstairs to wait on the weather...
The bikes, even though under the overhang, were soaked...
Rick looking at the weather on the computer told us we were royally screwed. Bob decides we that we should make a run for the trailer..
We sit back down to wait for noon.
I look outside and it has slowed to a drizzle. My rain coat is out on the bike (the big orange thing on the windshield). So we head out
It then started raining so hard that I had to put the camera in the saddlebag to keep it dry. This is the first time I have been on the bike and could not take pictures. It was that bad out. Anyway, 2 1/2 hours later we make it to Harrison Michigan and stop at Buccilli's Pizza again to eat. Here is Bob wringing out his gloves.
I go inside and ask Amy if three wet guys can come in and she said no problem, so we came in and got a table...Here is Bob. Some water made it under his helmet & raincoat & got him wet around the collar
You can see my dark gray wet sweatshirt under my vest that will attest to how water proof my rain suit top was. I didn't have the bottoms and from belt buckle down, I was soaked.
Rick was even wet around the collar and he was suited up. Tells ya how hard it rained.. It really sucked..
Here is Amy, our waitress, who had mercy on us and let us in to eat. I have been out West in New Mexico, got rained on and was refused service in restaurants because of being wet. So, thank you Amy & Buccilli's Pizza in Harrison Michigan for being a biker friendly business and taking care of us. For more on this great eatery, see this link: http://www.discoverourtown.com/MI/Harrison/Dining/183002.html
After eating, we head out to leave. Rick suits up & notice the pant legs of Bob's blue jeans.. Soaked. So, much for a full rain suit eh?
On the way t the RV park, we stop at Glen's Market for some goodies. Bob unlatches his saddle bags before going into the store. For info on Glen's Market see: http://local.yahoo.com/info-16324254-glen-s-markets-harrison
While Bob was in the store, I hear a little voice saying: Motorcycle Mommy! I turned and looked and saw this lady getting her son & daughter out of a van. She said it was her 4 year old son and he really liked motorcycles. I hopped off the bike and asked if it was okay if I put him on and got a picture for them. She said yes and here they are. On the bike and in control is Christian. That's his Mom, Connie holding his sister Carmen. I hope I was able to brighten Christian's day a little and from the look on his face I would say, mission accomplished. Looking good there Christian!!
Rick parked out in the parking lot and was watching the photo op
The final pic of the day is of Bob as we near the RV park. Today was interesting to say the least. With the hard rain and traffic, we thank God that we had no incidents of any kind and we got to the trailer safely. We will decide on tomorrow tonight.
