Blue Knights TX XX Final Ride of 2008 12-13-08

Saturday, 12-13-08, the Blue Knights TX XX had its last scheduled ride of 2008. With temps in the low 60's and the winds gusting 35-40 mph, this was going to be an interesting ride. We originally were going to ride to Nocona Texas and eat lunch there but that meant we would've had to fight the wind as a crosswind. We decided at the staging area to go, instead, to Bill's Catfish up in Waurika Oklahoma. That way, it would be a tailwind up and a headwind back. On hand for today's ride were: Russ, Louis, Rodney, Vicki, Doug and me & Janice. Scroll down for the ride and REMEMBER: IF YOU WANT TO SEE THE PICTURE BIGGER, JUST CLICK ON THE PICTURE.....

We staged at Love's Truck Stop, US 287 & Windthorst at 10:45 a.m. and went KSU at 11:00 a.m. Here are Russ & Rodney checking something out on Russ's bike..

Russ & Rodney discussing last nights Wild Hog party over at Russ & Linda's. Linda didn't ride today due to feeling a little ill this morning..

Janice was in good spirits for the ride today..

Doug getting off his bike due to not having his "fob" with him and not being able to start his bike

Doug had to manually punch in the code to start his bike.. This is something new I learned about the new Harley's today.. Part of the anti-theft thing..

Louis talking to Vickie prior to us leaving for Oklahoma..

Vickie, Rodney & Louis diggin into the catfish...

All the bikes outside Bill's Catfish. The two at the far end, a BMW & a Harley belonged to two guys that came in and they were heading to Dallas when they finished. I didn't envy them with the wind blowin as hard as it was.

And the last picture of this post is of our Road Captain for this ride and out in lead, Russ. In spite of the high winds, we still had a good time and anytime you can ride together is good. We will start up our scheduled Blue Knight TX XX rides in January if weather permits and down here in North Texas, you never know what its gonna do.
